‘I was experiencing an absolute democracy and freedom when reading The Irish Times local election tally report on Sunday afternoon. Elections 2019 in Ireland will on 24th May rearrange the power in local politics. 47 candidates is in the run for a chair in the Galway City Council 2019 – 2024. On-Street Poster Campaign Started in Galway Despite a Call for the Poster-free Elections 2019

Nominations open at 10.00am on Saturday 27th of April 2019, and close at 12.00noon on Saturday 4th May 2019. Nominees can get a nomination form online or from Customer Services, Galway City Council, City Hall, College Road, during normal working hours – Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 4.00pm. Nominees should make an appointment with the Returning Officer to be formally included as a candidate for election. Appointments will take place in City Hall from Saturday 27th April until Saturday 4  May 2019.
