New MADRA mascot unveiled for 2018 Dogathon on May 27th

Press Release 22 May 2018   MADRA’s new mascot was unveiled to the public this week on the Salthill prom, in time for their 2018 ‘Paws on the Prom’ Dogathon, which takes place on Sunday, May 27th at 1pm. The event begins at the Claddagh and all money raised will go to the Connemara-based dog rescue and adoption charity. The mascot, who has yet to be named, will lead the way on Sunday, taking over 1,000 paws along the prom to Blackrock. Green light for Galway city centre uplift worth of €15 million

Works are to be carried out on the worst areas of Shop Street next year ahead of a major city centre renovation project planned for 2019. According to Galway Bay FM News, officials at this week’s meeting of the City Council, admitted that the poor condition of the surface needs immediate attention and cannot wait another year. The City Council is currently developing a €15 million regeneration project for the heart of Galway City. More here
