KILKENNY BEST DRESSED LADY AT GALWAY RACES   Quick Jack credited Tony Martin with back-to-back victories in Thursday’s Guinness Galway Hurdle in what was a dramatic race. Last year’s winner Thomas Edison (a stable companion of Quick Jack) held every chance when he came down at the last and that left Quick Jack with an unassailable advantage. Max Dynamite and Ted Veale gave chase, but the winner had flown at that stage and Denis O’Regan kept the well backed 9/2 shot up to his work to win by two and a quarter lengths at the finish. “It’s brilliant. He had his ground for the first time in a long time today and […]

The CRAIC in Galway, August 2015, Edition 48, @AnPucan

Welcome to the 48th edition of the Craic in Galway magazine.  Isn’t it just fantastic when someone has the opportunity to meet their hero.  Elena Tully from Renmore managed just that when she met Hollywood icon Bette Midler at her concert at the O2 in London.  Overwhelmed with the emotion of it all, Elena managed to squeeze three hugs out of the star following an amazing performance.  She has the memories, and of course the photo, to last a lifetime.  Another Renmore beauty, Tirna Slevin, is following her dream in the hope of becoming Miss Ireland, while Moycullen’s Olga Lee, will battle it out on prime time TV for the chance […]
