Galway’s 11 celebrating 200 Years of Whiskey in the city!

Macnas are launching the Galway Whiskey Trail today! Galway’s extraordinary street  theater are bringing their show to The Spanish Arch at 9:30pm to celebrate 200 years of whiskey  distilling in the cultural hub of the west of Ireland. The 11 Whiskey Trail venues are – Tigh Neachtain, The Dáil Bar, An Púcan, McCambridge’s, Garveys, O’Connell’s, Garavans, Blake’s Bar, Freeney’s, Sonny Molloy’s, and The Kings Head. Dr. Seuss is in Town!

Seussical the Musical takes place at the Town Hall Theatre this week, bringing all of your favourite Dr. Seuss characters lovingly to life! The production is directed by Brian Power and Seán Power, with musical direction by Shane Farrell, and choreographers Katie Upton and Declan Gardiner. Seussical is a musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty based on the books of Dr. Seuss (mainly “Horton Hears a Who!”, “Horton Hatches the Egg” and “Miss Gertrude McFuzz”) that debuted on Broadway in 2000. Menlo Village in Galway attracts Mayors from California

Catherine Carlton, Mayor of Menlo Park city in California’s Silicone Valley, paid a visit to Menlo Village in Galway last Saturday morning. Mayor Carlton is currently holidaying in Ireland with her husband and is the 2nd Mayor of Menlo Park city to visit and enjoy the hidden beauty of the village on the shores of the Corrib. Galway Bay Ocean Observatory Completed

SEAI, the Marine Institute and Commissioners of Irish Lights deliver Ireland’s latest marine research environment Monday 10th August 2015: A significant piece of ocean research infrastructure was brought to fruition with the completion of the Galway Bay underwater ocean observatory over the weekend.  Through the combined effort of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), the Marine Institute and Commissioners of Irish Lights, the final piece of equipment has been deployed to give researchers and ocean energy developers unique insight into the Galway bay marine environment.  The observatory is now entering into a commissioning period and is expected to be operational in the coming months.
