Mayor of the Galway city / Méara Chathair na Gaillimhe, Cllr. Níall McNelis has officially launched Galway’s bilingual business award, Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2019 today (Tuesday 29th of January 2019), at a press event in the Ryan Room, of The  Connacht Hotel in Galway.

Businesses have 12 weeks to prepare for the Gradam, so plenty of time to avail of this fantastic opportunity to gain extra business through the use of Irish. Last year, out of the 15 businesses who entered the Gradam for the very first time, 11 of those were selected as finalists!

Entries for the 2019 nominations are open until Friday the 22nd of February.

Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh is named in honour of the late Seosamh Ó hÓgartaigh, founding member and company secretary of Gaillimh le Gaeilge. The award is organised by Gaillimh le Gaeilge in partnership with the Galway Advertiser and with support from TG4 and the Galway Chamber.
