A total of €1,500 was raised at the recent ‘Solaris Winter Warmer’ fundraiser in aid of Galway Simon Community to help those in need over the cold winter months. Guests were treated to a night of fantastic entertainment and delicious food organised by Solaris Tea, and hosted by Pearla na Mara restaurants, and the whole night was a great success. The evening began with fabulous wines and tea inspired cocktails, donated by Thomas Woodberrys, Pearla na Mara, and Solaris Tea, and with delicious canapes provided by Pearla na Mara with ingredients donated from suppliers such as Mc Geoughs Connemara Fine Foods, Connemara Smokehouse, Galway Goat Farm, and Killeen Cheese.

Huge thanks go to the many wonderful sponsors in particular McCambridges Galway for their major sponsorship of the evening. Fantastic performances on the night included the very talented and award winning Galway Poets Helena Kilty and Ruth Quinlan, with hilarious comedy and music from Jonathon Gunning of the Gombeens, Aindrias de Stack of Latchikos, and from Donal McConnon of My Fellow Sponges and the wonderful Will Softly from One World Sounds spinning the decks. The raffle had so many great prizes donated by many incredibly generous businesses including Galway Now, Bridgits Garden Galway, Evergreen, Elysium Day Spa, The Organic Center, Neantog, Nick Kats Naturopathy, and Willow Tree Holistic Centre. A truly brilliant night was had by all, and there is even talk in the wings of this becoming an annual event. Images from the eve have been provided by Darius Ivan of The Craic in Galway.
