“The Theatre Room” will showcase 6 original one-act plays in the Mick Lally Theatre this Saturday 21st November at 7pm. The plays – from local writers, directors and actors – have been developed as part of Druid’s FUEL Emerging Artist residency. They are: “Bold” by Ita Reddington, “Proper Opinions” by Luke Morgan, “Judge Fairy” by Tim Meaney, “Confession” by Lisanne Jacob, “Guilty Pleasure” by John Valters Paintner and “A. P. A.” by Eoin McClure.
“The Theatre Room” is a monthly performance of original one-act plays in non-traditional spaces. Starting in a living room in January of this year, “The Theatre Room” has seen 43 plays staged in Galway, involving the creative talent of all ages and experience levels.

FUEL provides successful applicants with: a week of rehearsal in the Mick Lally Theatre; workshops to aid professional development; a small stipend; access to office space and facilities for the duration of the residency; and support and advice from all the Druids and associates.

This event is an advance show ahead of the 2015 Theatre Room Awards on the 3rd of December in the Harbour Hotel. Some plays contain bad language and so may be unsuitable for children. Admission is free, but booking and early arrival is advised. See Druid.ie for details.
